Accessibility

This page provides additional accessibility information for those who require it.

Our Commitment

Selby Abbey is committed to providing an accessible experience for every individual. We are actively working with Everyday Enable, a local community interest company to ensure we are doing everything possible.

Accessibility Guide

Entrance

Our south entrance is our level, accessible entrance and is signposted from the marketplace.

Abbey Floor Plan

The Abbey has some uneven flooring due to the age of the stone used. The floor is generally level and suitable for wheelchair users. All publicly accessible parts of the Abbey are either level access or accessible via a permanent ramp.

Toilets and Baby Change

We currently have accessible toileting within the Abbey. This includes baby change.

Assistance dogs

The Abbey is dog friendly to all dogs. They are also welcome in our coffee shop area.

Hearing Loop

A hearing loop is available in the Abbey for services. This is accessible in all public areas.

Parking

The Abbey is a short walk (around 3 minutes) from accessible parking in the park. Extensive information on parking options and getting to the Abbey can be found in our accessibility guide.

You can download our full accessibility guide for in depth, detailed information on the Abbey’s accessibility. This will help you to plan your visit.
