‘Art in the Aisles’ at Selby Abbey
Art is coming to the Abbey in Selby through an exhibition of paintings and 3D works that showcases the creative talents of the celebrated East Riding Artists group, one of the largest organisations of its kind in the region.
Artist Larry Malkin, long standing chairman of the ERA, said the Abbey was a beautiful and prestigious location and the exhibition – which runs from Saturday April 5th to Friday April 18th – would be accessible to all. “Selby is a vibrant market town in the heart of Yorkshire with convenient parking in the centre,” said Larry. “The exhibition will involve a broad range of styles and mediums, many of them representing the essence of life and landscapes in and around the region.”
Most of the work on display will be for sale.
There are now more than 100 members who live and work in the expansive area of East Yorkshire, each one represented on the ERA website and in an annual directory which is freely distributed throughout the region.
ERA is a not-for-profit organisation whose focus is to raise the profile of artists and makers and promote economic growth within the creative community. It is a vibrant platform for painters, ceramicists, jewellery-makers, sculptors and mixed-media creators.
