An Evening with the York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir
Come and spend an evening listening to some of the finest male voice harmony singing.
The York Philharmonic Male Voice Choir was founded in 1925, bringing together people with a shared love of music and singing and is celebrating its centenary this year.
‘The Phil’, as the choir is affectionately known, has appeared on national TV performing its Carols in Kirkgate festive concert and has been a BBC Choir of the Year finalist. In the 1970s the Phil represented the UK in the ‘Let the people Sing!’ international competition, with 25 countries competing. Then in 2023 the Phil came first in all three applicable classes of the National Choir Festival, held in Whitby (North Yorkshire) and, again, in 2024 came first in two of the three applicable classes.
Tickets are £16 or £8 concessions (for those in full-time education) – available from Selby Abbey Gift/Coffee Shop
