Selby Abbey Men’s Group is a social group that meets from time to time on an ad hoc basis, holding occasional breakfast gatherings in the nearby George Hotel and Pie and Pea Suppers in suitable hostelries in the locality. In addition to outings to museums such as the National Railway Museum and Elvington Air Museum, we have occasional speakers’ evenings with talks on a variety of interesting subjects which have included medieval arms and armour and memories of a retired BBC outside broadcast camera man.
Any man with any connection whatsoever with Selby Abbey is automatically a member of Selby Abbey Men’s Group, there is no membership fee and no committee. Details of forthcoming events are posted on the website, on the church notice board and in the weekly Notice Sheets.
